Wayne’s mission in life is to help people increase their capacity to live and to give. He accomplishes it through his work with individuals in financial and legacy planning and through work with various not-for-profit organizations.

He began his career in financial services in 1979 and purchased a financial-planning practice in 1986. He has taught several adult-education classes on financial planning and is a frequent seminar speaker on financial topics.

Wayne’s passion is to engage individuals and families into thinking about how they can make a greater difference in their families, their communities, and beyond. The impact one can make on the world correlates closely to how one handles wealth. Wayne helps people develop and execute plans to live and leave extraordinary legacies.

Jude is a founding partner of McDaniel Knutson along with her husband Wayne. She’s been providing financial services since 1979 and been an Investment Advisory Representative since 1987. She is licensed in variable annuities, life and disability insurance, and as a securities registered representative with Financial Network. She is also a member of the American Society of CLU/ChFC, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce.

Jude enjoys riding bikes, backpacking, and has dabbled with learning Greek. She also enjoys working with her clients, some of whom have been with her since she started in business. Her objective with each client is to be able to say, “Goals were set and accomplished.”

Pete began his financial-planning career in 1993 in State College PA while his wife Julie attended graduate school at Penn State. Working primarily with university professors on their retirement plans, Pete taught an adult-learning, financial-planning class through Penn State’s Continuing and Distance Learning program.

He relocated to Lawrence in 1996 and originally focused on University of Kansas faculty and staff. Over time, he has expanded his practice to include other clientele. He joined the firm in 2001 and became a partner in 2005.

Pete and Julie have five children: Ben, Will, Caroline, Henry, and Lucy. When not working or chasing kids around, Pete enjoys photography, golf, and his newest hobby, fishing.

His assistant is Cindy Folks.

Vickie joined the McDaniel Knutson team as a financial advisor in 2006 then proudly became a partner and owner in January 2012. She is a Certified Financial Planner^®.

She heads the market analysis team at McDaniel Knutson, meeting with Wayne and Ed every week to plot our approach to market investment. She is also in charge of the securities-trading component of the company.

Vickie is a member of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Business Networking International, and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. She has been a guest lecturer for Kansas State’s Undergraduate Lectures in Mathematics Series on financial planning.

Ed has been a financial planner since 1993. He’s built a loyal and diverse client base by being trustworthy and listening to those he serves. He joined McDaniel Knutson in 2010.

Ed believes financial principles do not change, although the tools to help achieve success may evolve over time. His grandfather had a strong influence on him, instilling the principle, “spend less than you earn.” Ed believes remembering this simple idea is one of the biggest obstacles to people experiencing financial success.

He and his wife Delaine have four children: Brandon, Tyler, Emily, and Dylan. He is active in his community, serving in the Optimists and Civitan, in his church, and as a trustee for Zeta Chi fraternity. He enjoys being a part of organizations and projects that help youths and provide them with quality adult role models.

Heather is Ed Zeller’s assistant. Heather joined McDaniel Knutson in Autumn 2011 after working for the Kansas Research and Education Network for three years and in the E-Commerce industry for seven years. Heather and her husband Brandon travel a lot for his work and never get tired of visiting the many sides of Mexico. They have enjoyed over 17 years in the Lawrence community. On any given weekend you can usually find them somewhere on Mass Street or jet skiing around Clinton Lake in the summer.

Karey is the office manager and compliance officer, helping ensure all our work falls within federal regulations, industry standards and the highest ethical principles. She joined McDaniel Knutson in 1998.

Karey claims fly fishing, competitive water sports, and duct tape art as her hobbies. She doesn’t have any trophies yet, but she hopes to change that soon.

Keith is executive assistant to Jude McDaniel. He joined McDaniel Knutson in September of 2010 after working several years at Douglas County Bank, one as a branch manager. He also has 14 years of restaurant-management experience.

Keith has two daughters: Marianna and Sophie. His hobbies include bike-riding, playing piano and board games with children. He is active in his church, where he plays piano and sings.

Cindy is Peter Knutson’s executive assistant. She joined the McDaniel Knutson team in 2005 after working for Lawrence Public Schools and the University of Kansas. In addition to her other skills at McDaniel Knutson, Cindy is a Notary Public.

Cindy and husband Dennis have two grown children: Brett and Emily. She enjoys traveling, reading, and gardening in her spare time and serves as the treasurer for the Pregnancy Care Center of Lawrence.

Kara is the Executive Assistant to Vickie Bogner and Wayne McDaniel. She joined Ed Zeller's practice in 2005 and moved with him to McDaniel Knutson in June of 2010. Prior to that, she worked in the Finance Department at Sallie Mae for eight years and was a Mutual Fund Representative with DST Systems and BFDS for five years. She is also a securities registered representative with Financial Network and is a Notary Public.

Kara grew up in Lawrence. She and husband Troy have three children: Chelsie, Tyler, and Chase. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, participating in local charity events and fundraisers, and volunteering at her church.

Whether you're making a call to us or stopping in for a visit or appointment, Brenda is your first point of contact with
McDaniel Knutson as our receptionist. She joined the McDaniel Knutson team in 2011. Previously she recruited temporary seasonal employees for American Eagle Outfitters' warehouse in Ottawa KS. Prior to that she was involved in media sales for the Ottawa Herald.

Brenda and her husband Rusty have two grown children and are proud grandparents to four youngsters. Brenda and Rusty are active in their church and as volunteers in the community. They conduct a weekly Bible study at Lansing Correctional Facility and host foreign exchange students attending the University of Kansas.

Tammy is the Operations Administrator for McDaniel Knutson. She’s been working in the financial-planning industry since 2003 and joined McDaniel Knutson in 2008. A native of Kansas City, she is a military wife, whose husband, Geoffrey, graduated from the University of Kansas with his bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering. Geoff and Tammy returned to active duty this year and Tammy continues to work for McDaniel Knutson from her home in Florida.

Tammy counts writing and photography among her hobbies. She is also an active volunteer in her church.
